If my hubby uses a" tone" that could start emotions erupting, I look at him and say, "When you talk to me like that I don't think you love me, " in a sweet, kind of flirty way, and it makes him laugh and we move on. He does the same back to me when I get a "tone" in my voice. He used that phrase to me when we were with friends, and we all laughed. And now our friends use it, too.
