Love & Respect

Quick Tip by Karyn Ruiz, Married 36 Years

"Love and RESPECT your husband! Compliment and thank him for those little things he does in helping around the house. When you or he comes home after a long day's work, say hello and embrace him and let him know you are happy to be home together again. Never go to bed angry and pray for him each day.”

My husband is at the TOP of my prayer list every single night !

I thank (my) Lord for blessing me with such a loving, hard working man and I am well aware that my family does not "work" without him. His Monday through Friday sacrifice of getting up at 4am and going to work to "slay dragons" to keep me at home with our 2 children, is something that I am eternally grateful for. On the weekends, my husband tops it off by swinging a pickaxe and digging his shovel in our backyard - working even MORE to make our new house a "home". I take great pride and pleasure in supervising/caretaking the children while he does this, and bringing him a sandwich and cold drink when he needs it.

I make a point to greet him with a smile, a gentle kiss, and a warm, all embracing hug when he walks through the door of our home at the end of his work day (and also some 'alone time' to decompress from his stresses and worries).

You know what? He *returns* these gestures to me TENFOLD ! It's the look in his eyes when he says, "Thank you, baby", the tenderness of his embrace, and his doing the "little" things for me that help to make MY life just a bit easier/smoother.

Heed this advice wives.....LOVE AND RESPECT YOUR HUSBAND!
