If you've read this blog for any length of time you know I don't have any children. It's not for a lack of trying or desire, it's just not been in the plan for our life and so Keith and I are happily married without children. BUT, I know so many of you (likely, most of you) have expanded your family beyond just you and your hubby so I wanted to add a section on the site for you.
I am the last of my girlfriends to have children so I am absolutely surrounded by kids and their doting moms all of the time. Not to mention, I have five siblings who have blessed me with six nieces and nephews, ranging in age from 24-years old to 3 months. Since launching the Club, I've met even more wonderful moms. So rather than trying to write a special section for moms, I thought I'd make this a place to promote a few of my favorite blogs by Happy Wives with children.
I just adore these gals! They've mastered the art of spicing up their marriages and keeping the intimacy there...even after children enter the picture. They are honest, transparent and I'm honored they are members of this club. Here's a blurb from their own site:
"We began this lil’ venture of dating our spouses, just like anyone else…..waaay back before we said, “I Do”! Back when dates were the most important element of our life and held a high status over all else. {WINK} Being at the top of our lists, the focus on dating helped us fall MADLY in love with the men we now call our DEAR husbands. Since those dating years some of us have had children, finished school, started careers, and quite simply have embarked on what we know now as, “The Married Life”. We all know that marriage can become TOO comfortable {a.k.a. routine} and dating your amazing spouse – the way you did when first falling in love… is the sure-fire way to keep that SPARK in marriage! We are sharing with you the SECRETS to our success! We hope that you will find ideas that keep your marriage healthy, happy, and full of love!
In a nutshell, each Monday the Divas will offer an awesome date already completely planned for your upcoming weekend! {Aw geez… you’re totally welcome!} Throughout the rest of the week we’ll also post quick & easy ideas to serve your spouse, unforgettable family outings and activities with the kids, intimate moment ideas to spice things up in that room, and fun “romance” crafts to boot! There is definitely something for every couple!"
Fit Moms Fit Kids Club was started by a member of this club and professional beach volleyball player, Annett Davis. It's all about having fun with your kids and hubby in a healthy way and I know few wives and moms as happy as Annett. She is truly a Happy Wife! Here's a blurb from the site about Annett:
"Being a busy parent, always on the run, Annett knows all too well the challenges that families face in today’s fast food society, and how easy it is to let fast food feed our kids. Annett is an Olympian and Professional Beach Volleyball Player, slash mother of two, slash happy wife, slash community and social activist who cares a lot about the rising rate of obesity and obesity related diseases among our kids. She’s the founder of Fit Moms Fit Kids (an initiative that helps busy moms take back the health of their families and themselves) and is a participant of the Southern California committee for the Olympic Games Ready, Set, Gold! program that encourages public schools students to be fit for life. She also is on the board of directors for the Children’s Fitness Foundation. Annett and husband Byron also launched The Lose 2 Win Challenge to help America lose weight while at the same time inspiring Americans to help starving kids all across the world."
Oh, how I love this site...let me count the ways. Alisa Bowman, author of Project Happily Ever After, and creator of this site is one of the most courageous writers out there. She leaves everything on the table, baring her soul, so she can help as many marriages as possible. Here is a blurb from Alisa's site:
Not long after I saved my marriage, I started this site. I didn’t want anyone else to have to go through what I did. You are not alone. You are not a failure. You are not a bad person. Your life is not over. You deserve happiness and you can find it. I want you to know that.
I started Project Happily Ever After to help others. It’s my hope that this site can provide you with a sense of hope that happiness is not only your right, but that it’s also within your grasp.
