Timing is Everything

Quick Tip Submitted by Torrie S:

One of the best things I've learned it that timing is EVERYTHING! After a long day, the last thing my husband (or any for that matter) wants to be greated by is a frustrated, nagging, emotional wreck. So you've had a bad day, the kids have been out of control and everything that could go wrong, did. There is a time and place to talk to him about it - and it's not as he's walking through the door. Great him with a smile and a hug, the way you'd want to be greated. Let him have dinner and unwind (he'll listen better anyways). Wait until the house is quiet and interruptions are few. Then gently let him know you need to talk. Share what you need to share. He will be more likely to listen and receive what you're saying. And you have had some time to choose your words wisely.
