"He can find a parking space all by himself - he REALLY doesn't need your help even if you think you're being helpful... he finds them all the time, all by himself when you're not with him. Feel free to use this metaphor for all the other things you think he needs your help in oder to accomplish them...he's a grown-up. Treat him that way."
